Facial hair removal is one of our highest value services because:
Also, the facial hair is sparser than hair on other body areas. Therefore,
Women unwanted facial hair is most often found on the cheeks, chin, and upper lip. Laser can effectively eliminate this hair while maintaining the smooth texture of the skin tone.
We also see a lot of men who suffer from razor bumps (pseudofolliculitis barbae). Beard area and ears are the most common treated area on the face for men. Facial laser treatments help them get rid of the coarse hair and leave them with finer, sparser hair, eliminating the accurance of the razor bumps.
Facial laser hair removal is an excellent solution for the right candidates. However, before considering the procedure make sure the hair is not a result of hormonal imbalance. If this is the case, treatment of the underlying hormonal changes should start simultaneously with laser hair reduction.
Check here if you are a good candidate for the procedure. A person with light skin and dark hair is the best candidate. However, darker skin and lighter hair can also be treated effectively by an experienced provider who works with the proper laser.
A large number of our patients are women who were frustrated with their facial hair. These women have dealt with unwanted hair through repeat waxing, plucking, tweezing, shaving, bleaching, make up, and cream applications. Unfortunately, none of these solutions eliminates the hair for more than 2-4 weeks.
These techniques also introduce unwanted side effects: Waxing of the upper lip can cause skin discoloration, tweezing hair can cause skin irritation, inflammation and scarring (particularly in darker type skin), and shaving often causes skin bumps – particularly in people with coarse hair.

rating report where we need to improve what we did well
I am a 23 yro African American women & I have terrible uncontrollable facial hair. My chin has it bad. My checks and neck I can deal with. But my skin scarred from years of plucking. I have to pluck every day & shave once a week. I have brown skin, but dark hair & dark marks on my chin. I use shea butter & ambi to lighten it, but the scars are still visible. Sometimes I have to break the skin to get out a hair & they often curl up & stay in the skin, and they are long when i pluck them. It hurts & its embarrassing. I really need to get rid of it. I am willing to spend the money & do the treatments.
Am I a good candidate for this?
What you describe appears not just to be undesirable facial hair but also a reaction to hair re-growth that is called pseudofolliculitis barbae. In this condition the hair growth appears to cause inflammation in the skin resulting in a raised spot where the hair would normally grow out and in long lasting hyperpigmentation from the inflammatory response. When removing the hair or even when just making it much finer, this reaction stops. It appears that you are a very good candidate for laser hair removal. The laser that is suitable for you is the Nd:YAG laser as it does not cause permanent pigment destruction in your skin. Rarely, temporary hyperpigmentation may occur but in those few in whom this happens, regular use of hydroquinone 2% cream (e.g Ambi) once daily one week before and 3 weeks after treatment is sufficient to prevent it. The darkening from past breakouts will take some time to resolve but may respond faster to a combination of retinoid, hydroquinone or non-hydroquinone fading agent and glycolic acid, all of which may be used during laser hair reduction but not the day of laser treatment. The schedule in which to use the over the counter and prescription products that help fade the hyperpigmentation should be tailored by your dermatologist.
I have a question concerning facial hair removal for men. At what age are you able to get this procedure done? Although I under eighteen, I have thick, coarse facial hair that grows very quickly. As well, I am extremely pale. Facial hair does not fit me at all and never will and I am tired of shaving every morning to feel stubbles within a few hours. As well, what is the likelihood that it would eliminate the hair on such a coarse, thicker haired man like myself. Lastly, how many treatments are required for facial hair removal?
You can start laser hair removal at this time. In areas of very thick and coarse hair, you may about 6 treatments every 4-6 weeks to achieve about a 90% reduction of the hair. At that time you would stop and have maintenance treatments every few months or few years depending on when dormant follicles go into production. If you have not already done so, please watch the video on our website that alos explains this process.
